Vacancy

As a Medior/Senior Front-end Developer (Vue.js) at Orbisk you are responsible for maintaining and further developing the customer portal. This is the most important product of Orbisk and offers customers insight into their food waste. Therefore you analyse all the requirements and wishes of the customers and the customer experts and you convert these into tickets in the right way. This way, you make sure that the Back-End Developer can get to work with them. You then program the tickets correctly at the front-end.

Every fortnight, you give a demo to the Product Owner about the progress of the features you are working on. You will create a roadmap for the long term, in which you keep track of all features.

You mainly work on new features and maintain existing ones. In this way, you strive for a user-friendly customer portal that can (continue to) offer the right summary and predictive insights into food waste.

You are part of the Development team and you mostly work closely together with a Back-end Developer, a Product Owner and a UX Designer. The whole team works Scrum.

If you enjoy supporting customers by picking up and completing new features, and find it challenging that you get to work in a small start-up and therefore have a lot of responsibility, then this is a job for you.

Working week

Senior Front-end Developer (Vue.js)

On a nice day you look at a new feature together with the Back-end Developer. To do this, you collect feedback from the Customer Success team. At the end of the day you give a demo to a stakeholder, which is received positively.

On a less pleasant day you deal with a ticket that is difficult to solve. Since this concerns customers who cannot log in after a new release, you have to hurry.

Firsthand experience

A number of customers submit a request: they not only want to see the total food waste, but also the food waste per person. How do you add this new data source to the customer portal?

The Product Owner explains that this is a feature on the backlog. It is up to you to develop it further. As a Front-end Developer, you examine what data you need from the Back-end Developer. You think ahead and draw up a clear plan for how you want the new feature to look. You also work together with the UX Designer. If you have a lot of questions, you ask the Customer Success team or the Product Owner. After two weeks, you give a demo of the new feature to the Product Owner.

Growth

At Orbisk, there are several opportunities to grow as an employee. Various courses are offered, allowing you to develop yourself optimally. You work in a fresh and creative start-up, where everyone wants to learn from each-other. Everyone has his own specialisation. In the coming years, the organisation will also focus on international growth, which means that more and more new positions will become available.

Working at Orbisk

Orbisk is a start-up with a clear mission: to make the global food system more sustainable. The start-up provides complete insights into the food flows of hospitality organizations. Orbisk does this by offering a smart camera and scale that uses image recognition to register which food is thrown away, when, and in what quantity. The customer can view this data in the dashboard, which provides insight into food wastage and can be used to reduce it.
