What is required?

  • Bachelors / Masters technical working and thinking level
  • Technical and practical education and experience in production environments
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with supplier improvement projects using lean Six Sigma methodology is a plus
  • Ability to lead a team effectively
  • Good communication skills
  • Good command of the English language, both verbally and in writing; German language skills are a plus

Vacancy

As a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer at BlueHeart Energy, you are responsible for finding and managing the right suppliers for our Thermo-acoustic engine for heat pumps. In this role, you combine strategic insight with practical skills to find and manage the right suppliers. By understanding their production processes fully and understand the needs from the Design team, you can focus on quality, cost reduction and delivery time under the right conditions of the suppliers. Together with them you scale up from a view systems in 2024 to mass production in 2027. You work closely with the Engineering and the Production team. Your focus is on strategic scaling of production with suppliers or selecting better suppliers, from the initial development phase to industrialization for mass production.

You take responsibility for evaluating supplier capabilities, identifying risks, and actively seeking new supplier partners to support the growth ambitions of BlueHeart Energy. You analyze the effectiveness of suppliers and actively and creatively contribute, based on your experience, to achieve cost and quality goals. You ensure these align seamlessly with business objectives. You also play an active role in making important procurement decisions and managing projects with suppliers, developing strategies for financial planning and cost savings.

You are part of the Production & Procurement team, which consists of five people, with your main focus on Procurement. As a senior member, you have a leading role in the team's development and contribute to the realization of strategic goals. You also work closely with colleagues from other departments.

On a less enjoyable day, you are intensively tracking and solving an unexplained error in a delivery in close cooperation with suppliers.

In this role, you actively build strong relationships with suppliers, based on clear agreements and terms. You work closely with the CFO and CEO/CTO to plan and target desired results. You actively address and resolve issues with suppliers. You play a key role in managing the tension that arises, taking a solution-oriented and strategic approach to represent the interests of both BlueHeart Energy and the suppliers. You also technically contribute to the solutions.

BlueHeart Energy was founded in 2016 to apply thermoacoustics as a technology in heat pumps. Thermoacoustics is a disruptive approach to generate heat and cold, with potential to revolutionize the whole industry. Over the past seven years, BHE has developed a thermoacoustic engine to power heat pumps in residential buildings. This so called 'Blue Heart' of a heat pump is sold to manufacturers. In the coming years, the 'Blue Heart' will have to be further developed and optimized. Besides this, we will set up our production facility, strengthen the relationships with our customers (Manufacturers of heat pumps) and set up pilot projects in houses and monitor these.

Founder of QWIC electric bicycles and president of the Branch Association of Electric Transport. I was also temporary Project Manager of large heat projects in The Netherlands.
