Vacancy

As an Account Manager, you will constantly work on finding new customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for relationship management, and your goal is to promote coffee volumes and maintain customer relationships.

Cold acquisition is an important part of your job, so you need to be creative when approaching new leads and spotting opportunities. The sales process only starts once you have found a lead. In a way, you will be running your own business, as you will be responsible for the customers in your region.

Working week

Account Manager
Jasper Dobber

On the nicest days, I close a lot of deals. Sometimes, you will not hear anything for weeks, but there are also days on which 5 deals suddenly come through.

On less pleasant days, I am in my office completing administrative tasks all day long, or I am handling customer issues – which are, for example, invoice-related.

Firsthand experience

You have planned an afternoon full of cold acquisition. This means that you will contact companies unannounced with the purpose of making them customers. Say, you just got brushed off twice because these companies did not have enough time. Then, you come across a company whose quality image you believe will fit Nespresso. Of course, there is a chance that they do not have time today either. What to do?

You should be able to deal with getting brushed off. It is important to come up with creative solutions and get that much-desired lead after all. Often, you will be told that someone is too busy and that you need to keep it short. You can anticipate this by immediately saying, “I assume that you are busy, so I’ll keep it short.” Alternatively, you could bring a Nespresso coffee machine and offer the company a week of free coffee. This way, you will have a cold introduction, but you are showing that you want to meet the potential customer halfway.
