Vacancy

As Production Manager at Kompak, you are responsible for managing daily operations within a production environment comprising three liquid mixing plants, two powder mixing plants, and fifteen production lines. You directly supervise four team leaders and ensure that the teams collaborate optimally to achieve objectives regarding quality and delivery reliability. You monitor operational planning and staffing, continuously coordinating between the shop floor and the office environment. Through Gemba rounds and brief coordination meetings, you identify bottlenecks early and ensure that production processes remain stable and run efficiently.

In addition to daily management, you focus on process optimization and the strategic growth of the organization, including the expansion of powder production by the end of 2026. You lead Lean and efficiency projects, analyze KPIs and OEE figures to implement structural improvements, and translate strategic Management Team goals into concrete actions on the shop floor. You maintain close contact with the Planning, Engineering, and Quality departments to find an optimal balance between output and technical availability. You also play a central role in project teams surrounding the new construction of the logistics center, ensuring that operational interests are properly safeguarded.

You will work in Kompak's middle management, alongside the CEO, CFO, COO, Technical Service Team Leader, Quality Manager, Engineering Manager, and Planning & Supply Chain Manager. Within this core team, you bear ultimate responsibility for production and work closely to optimize the entire logistics chain. You manage the four team leaders, each representing a specific part of the operation, and guide them in their professional development.

If you want to build a modern, scalable production environment where your leadership truly makes an impact, you enjoy helping people grow, and you can handle the time pressure and hectic pace of a production environment, then this is the job for you.

Working week

Production Manager

On a pleasant workday, during your round through production, you notice that the lines are running smoothly, the atmosphere is good, and an improvement idea has been immediately taken up by the team. You see how team leaders demonstrate ownership and work together with Planning and Technical on the future plans for the new powder mixer.

On a less-than-pleasant workday, you are confronted with unexpected malfunctions and quality issues that cause you to spend the entire day putting out fires. Despite the hectic situation, you remain calm, maintain a balance between the various departmental interests, and restore stability to operations.

Firsthand experience

It is Monday morning and one of the liquid mixing plants comes to a standstill due to a pump failure, immediately jeopardizing the production line schedule and delivery reliability. What do you do?

As Production Manager, you immediately take charge. You gather the involved team leaders for a brief crisis meeting on the shop floor. You review the current status, which batches can be converted, which lines can be temporarily rescheduled, and where the greatest customer impact lies. You coordinate with Planning to calculate alternative scenarios and ask the Continuous Improvement Team Leader to look into the underlying cause as soon as the disruption is resolved. Within half an hour, an adjusted plan is in place that limits the damage, safeguards the most important orders, and provides clarity to the teams.

By the end of the day, the disruption has been resolved, production is running stably again, and together with the team leaders, you have rebalanced the week's schedule. Situations like this occur regularly: technology, planning, and operations interlock, and your role is to restore calm, make choices, and help the teams switch gears quickly and smartly.
