Vacancy

Acquisition based on this advertisement is not appreciated. We usually fill the vacancies ourselves and in exceptional cases we work with preferred suppliers.

As the Head of Installation & Commissioning at EuroSort, you provide facilitative leadership to the Installation & Commissioning department. You are primarily responsible for creating an environment in which the preparation, guidance, and delivery of on-site installations by the team can take place as optimally as possible. In this role, you ensure that the team of Mechanical and Electrical Installation Coordinators and Commissioning Engineers has all the resources and support they need to perform their work as well as possible.

Your role goes beyond just managing; you are a connector who is open to the insights and ideas that the team itself brings forward. As an expert in this field with preferably practical experience, you understand the problems that the team may encounter. Together, you constantly think about how processes can be improved, after which you make proposals for this to, for example, the Management Team (MT). In this role, you also aim to optimize the collaboration with other departments, in order to improve the end result.

Optimizing operational work processes is also an ongoing task. You ensure a balanced distribution of work and you actively identify whether tasks can be improved. In addition, you facilitate the development of your team by organizing training and courses, one-on-one guidance and coaching, and conducting personal goal-setting, appraisal and development discussions.

You are part of the Installation & Commissioning department, which falls under the Projects department. This department realizes the customer's wish based on existing modules and project-specific solutions. You work directly with the Engineering, Project Management, Documentation, and Supply departments. You report to the Manager of Projects.

If you enjoy leading and developing a team, and if you are confident enough to deal with strong personalities, then this is a job for you.

Firsthand experience

Your department is struggling with a number of processes that are clearly taking a lot of time and energy. How do you address this situation?

When you notice that certain processes are not running efficiently, it's crucial to optimize them as soon as possible. First, you identify the problem and find out where it originates. The issue might occur earlier in the process, but only becomes visible in your team. For example, a production error that makes installation extra difficult. In that case, you would speak to the responsible department head.

If you can do something about the problem yourself, you engage in discussion with your team. Next, you create a rough outline for optimization and seek feedback on it. During implementation, you continue to monitor your team to see if improvement is indeed happening. You also continue to communicate effectively with your team.

Growth

EuroSort considers personal development to be very important. There are many opportunities to take courses, attend trainings, and receive education. Currently, EuroSort is developing an educational policy to provide a more concrete structure to this.

With a predilection for technology, I have always been looking for a working environment in which I have to deal with multiple techniques. At EuroSort, various systems come together in the control of the sorting installations. From controlling various sensors, actuators, motors and servo drives, to communication between different systems, such as servers, HMI and cameras.

Marco Vonk - Purchaser

Why did you decide to work for this company?
I started in 2011 as an Engineer at EuroSort. In addition, I did project-related purchases. Due to the dynamic growth of EuroSort, I have gradually started to concentrate and professionalize myself more in the field of purchasing. Partly because the organization feels great, from which we get satisfaction together, this is a huge stimulus to develop myself further and to keep the enthusiasm high. This is an advantage of EuroSort for me!
