Vacancy

As a Guest Service Agent at DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station, you are responsible for welcoming guests to the hotel. You are the first point of contact for guests and you arrange the entire stay. For example, you help with picking up and bringing luggage to the room and inform guests about the possibilities in the city. You make restaurant reservations, arrange museum tickets and excursions and book cabs for guests. You do this both via email, and in person at the desk in the hotel lobby. You work morning, day or evening shifts. The morning shift starts at 7 am and ends at 3 pm, the day shift lasts from 10 am to 6 pm and the evening shift lasts from 3 pm to 11 pm. You will be part of the Guest Services team, which consists of a Guest Service Manager, a Guest Service Supervisor and five Guest Service Agents.

If you enjoy providing the hotel's guests with a truly local experience and find it challenging to perform many different types of tasks in the process, then this is a job for you.

Working week

On a fun work day, you have pleasant contact with guests and make them happy with great restaurant tips and booking excursions.

On a day when not everything is running smoothly, a direct colleague is sick, so you are manning the desk alone. This allows you to spend a little less time advising guests, but you manage to keep everyone happy.

Firsthand experience

Due to crowds at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, it regularly happens that guests' luggage does not arrive. What do you do?

When guests call with such a problem, you immediately jump into action. You reassure guests and book a cab to take them from the airport to the hotel. You contact Schiphol and make sure that when the luggage is retrieved, it is immediately transported to the hotel. Then you bring the luggage to the guests' room as soon as possible.

Growth

As part of the global Hilton Worldwide chain, DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal
Station is fully committed to employee development and growth. This is easy to see, as
almost all supervisors and department heads in the current team once started at Hilton in a
starter role and have grown internally. This growth and development takes place by offering
a very complete induction program and a wide range of courses and training, whereby the
exact offer depends on the department in which you work, the role you fulfill and the
growth path that you coordinate with your manager.
