  • A first practical experience in the domain

Vacancy

In the position of Assistant Breeder, you play a key role in the execution of breeding and field testing activities. You will be responsible for the planning and organisation of field activities such as nurseries, trials and seed production. You will provide instructions to the field staff and supervise tasks in coordination with the farm manager. You will collect observations in the field, curate and analyse data back in the office and support the forage breeders in their decision making process.

As part of your development, you will take the lead in specific research projects, such as the development of modern phenotyping tools and you will take charge autonomously of the breeding of a minor forage species.

Being a member of the station management team, you participate in the planification of activities, make proposal for improving processes and participate in the decision making regarding the functioning of the station.

You will report to the senior forage breeder/station manager, collaborate with another forage breeder, the farm manager, two other assistant breeders and a team of field technicians. You also interact regularly with colleahues from the R&D Global, from other departments of the company and with a variety external stakeholders .
