Vacancy

As a Class B Driver at Van der Kleij you are responsible for delivering clean linen to hotels and restaurants. You bring the roll containers and bags to the customer and take back the dirty linen. You load and unload yourself, both at the customer and at the company. As you represent the company, you drive neatly and according to the traffic rules.

You make about three to four journeys per day, lasting approximately one to three hours per journey. On average, you visit three different customers per trip. You alternate driving with loading and unloading, and you sometimes have to wait a while, for example when another supplier is still busy. In addition, you spend fifteen minutes every day keeping track of your administration, such as the mileage, the customers driven and the number of containers.

You will work in the Logistics team, together with a number of other drivers. You are in frequent contact with the Sorting department, to report about which customers you visit and what you deliver to them, and occasionally with Customer Service when there are complaints or incidents. You also work together with logistics employees, the assistant Logistics team leader and the Logistics team leader. In addition, at some hotels you will be helped by housekeeping employees with unloading.

If you enjoy being on the road, manouvering through city centers in your car and want to work in a well-organized and collegial team, then this is the job for you.

Working week

Class B Driver

On a good working day, the sun is shining, you're listening to some nice music and there are no traffic jams, so you can drive smoothly. The customer's delivery location is available and the hotel employees help with loading and unloading. In the meantime there is time for a chat and a cup of coffee.

On a less pleasant working day, the road is busy and you have to deal with bothersome fellow road users. The planning is unfavorable, so you drive less optimal routes and sometimes have a longer ride late in the day. Fortunately, most days go more smoothly.

Firsthand experience

When you arrive at a hotel, you see that the loading and unloading area is occupied. What do you do?

You look for another place close to the hotel where you can load and unload. You make sure that you are parked safely and are not in the way of other road users.

Growth

The growth path at Van der Kleij is not determined in advance. You are given the freedom to develop yourself personally. Training courses are possible based on your individual development needs and organizational goals. There is the option to obtain your BE, C and CE driving license. Once you have obtained your driving license C, updating the code 95 (once every 5 years) is also paid for by the company.
