Vacancy

As a Senior Financial Accountant at Mizuho, you are responsible for managing and maintaining the general ledger to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all transactions and balances. This will involve reviewing and reconciling accounts, analyzing and interpreting financial data, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

In addition, you will lead general ledger-related projects, for example, setting up new products or account keys, as well as other departmental projects. You will collaborate with other teams across the organization to ensure that all financial reporting and analysis is accurate and timely. Furthermore, you will assist with financial and other audits for all locations, as well as provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management.

You will be part of the Finance Department, which is split into two teams: Accounting and Reporting. You will be working in the Accounting team, which consists of about six colleagues. The team is responsible for all accounting and general ledger-related matters, the overall data quality of the financial administration, and the general ledger of the bank. In the role of Senior Financial Accountant, you will also work closely with other departments, such as Operations and IT, which are based in London.

If you enjoy conducting research, particularly with new and existing products, and find it challenging to find proper solutions in a sometimes fast-paced and demanding environment, then this is the right job for you.

Firsthand experience

You will be asked a question regarding the monthly revenues of a customer. How do you proceed?

If you are asked about the monthly revenues of a customer, the first step is to investigate the possible reasons behind the question. This could be due to errors in profit centers or margins input by the Operations department, or for other reasons. If you notice the need for investigation, the next step is to contact your colleagues from the Operations department in London. Together, you can identify the problem and find ways to resolve it.
