What is required?

  • University degree, preferably in economics, law, finance
  • Experience with AFM or similar authorities
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, AML/TF, and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in MiFID and Market Abuse Framework
  • Proficient knowledge of investment banking and treasury products
  • Fluent English, both verbally and in writing is essential. A good understanding of Dutch is preferred. Fluency in either Japanese or German would be a plus
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle complex, confidential issues

Vacancy

As a Senior Compliance Officer at Mizuho, you are responsible for overseeing compliance and risk operations to ensure the bank remains in line with regulatory standards. Key aspects of your duties involve market-specific guidelines, particularly those related to the MiFID directive and the market abuse framework.

In your role, you'll frequently engage with traders in the dealing room, offering clarity on intricate compliance regulations. Your crucial task involves simplifying complex rules into accessible guidelines, a vital component in ensuring the Trading team's efficient operation. This interaction is essential to guarantee that the team comprehends and complies with these regulations.

Furthermore, you'll play a pivotal role in assisting the Head of Compliance. This encompasses tasks such as developing and reviewing compliance policies, monitoring relevant industry regulations, and participating in diverse projects. Regular reporting is part of the role, and it's essential to keep up with regulatory changes that affect the bank's operations.

You will be part of Mizuho's Compliance department, collaborating closely with Compliance Officers, Legal Counsels, and the Senior Director. Together, you'll tackle a broad range of tasks, all with the primary goal of upholding Mizuho's strict commitment to compliance.
