Vacancy

As a KYC Analyst at Mizuho, you are responsible for day-to-day and in-depth KYC analysis and AML checks on clients according to the regulatory framework and established policies and procedures. These are mainly corporate clients operating in Europe. You are involved in the investigation process from start to finish and have regular contact with your team, the customer and the Mizuho Compliance team. You also support and participate in regulatory enhancement projects.

It is your task to facilitate client on-boardings via end to end KYC processing on high risk customers and complex structures. You also ensure if pre and post transaction monitoring is performed in accordance with the AML regulation (WFFT/WFT). In addition, you identify and assess the Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) and Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) within complex ownership structures. Other tasks that come with this position are performing sanctions screenings in accordance with Sanctions Regulations (SW), investigating negative and/or adverse news publications and supporting the creation of templates for efficient CDD processing.

You are in the KYC/AML team, which is part of the Middle Office department. This team consists of eight KYC/AML Analysts, one Intern and a Team Leader, who is also your supervisor. Within this team, your role is to assist with training your colleagues and the Front Offices members.

Firsthand experience

You want to verify the identity of a customer in order to assess the financial risks. How do you proceed?

It is your task to analyze the financial risks related to various regulations in differend fields, for example, money laundering or tax fraud. First, you do this by collecting data and then conducting an analysis. Subsequently, you forward the relevant information to the Compliance team. If any particularities are found, you and your colleagues discuss what follow-up steps need to be taken.
