Vacancy

As a Mechanical / Project Engineer at BlueHeart Energy, you are responsible for the entire development process of specific components, from initial design to final mass production. You will specifically focus on realizing two to three key components, for which you will bear responsibility. In this role, you translate innovative ideas into practical component designs using 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks). You establish the dimensions and technical specifications of the part, ensuring they meet both functional requirements and legal standards.

In close collaboration with suppliers, you convert designs into production-ready components at the desired cost price. This process is iterative: you actively communicate with suppliers and adjust designs based on possibilities, feedback and production requirements. You also ensure that components are delivered on time and within budget in cooperation with the Procurement team. At the same time, you work with your team to ensure that all components fit in the overall assembly. Additionally, you are responsible for specifying and validating the functionality of each part, continually documenting your choices and findings, and making adjustments to meet the established specifications.

You are part of the Engineering team, consisting of multiple Mechanical / Project Engineers, a Mechanical Engineer / Lead Designer, and a Project Manager Product Development. Together, you ensure that each part of the thermoacoustic heart of the heat pump integrates seamlessly into the overall design.

If you enjoy continuously searching for innovative solutions and find it challenging to work in a fast-changing organization, then this is a job for you.

Working week

Mechanical / Project Engineer

On an enjoyable workday, you spend a large part of your day designing components and exploring ideas. You also have a fruitful conversation with a supplier about a deep technical topic or issue.

On a less enjoyable workday, your technical creativity or problem-solving ability is hardly or not at all challenged.

Firsthand experience

You need to select a supplier for the injection molding of an aluminum part. What do you do?

Together with the Lead Engineer and the team, you determine the requirements of the part, including shape, dimensions and material properties. Once you have established the requirements, you make an initial design of the part in the CAD system. Together with the Procurement team, you then look for suitable suppliers.

After finding several interesting suppliers, you contact them, present the company and the product, and conduct initial discussions. To support this, you exchange technical data to get a good idea of how suitable their injection molding process is. If you are still interested in working with this supplier, you can ask for a quote or letter of intent in collaboration with the Procurement Engineer to review the prices and timelines they can offer. Based on this information, you decide if this supplier and BlueHeart Energy are a good match.
