Vacancy

As a Process Engineer you are responsible for monitoring, analysing and improving processes at a factory of Nouryon. You perform these tasks, amongst others, using data that you retrieve from the factory system. As you have thorough knowledge of the process and the underlying chemical and physical phenomena, you can solve problems and see where processes can be improved or where a new design is required.

In addition, you also conduct safety studies. The number of safety studies depends on the product– for which you are responsible – being manufactured in the factory. Together with a multidisciplinary team, you examine possible security risks and see how these can be solved.

Firsthand experience

Certain equipment takes more time to drain and you need to investigate the cause. What would you do?

You look at the PID’s (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) of the factory. This is a schematic illustration of the process showing exactly how pipes run and how the equipment is connected. You search for a possible cause of the clogging. During the process, for example, a damper could have opened as a result causing resistance and the equipment to drain more slowly.

When you have identified the possible causes, you go to the factory to investigate where it has actually gone wrong. Often you cannot see this on the surface and will need to make an x-ray, or look inside with a camera to find out what has gone wrong. When you and the team have found the solution, you pass it on to maintenance.

Growth

You can participate in training courses in the field of knowledge development, safety and personal development. In addition, it is always possible to propose a training course that suits you and at the same time adds value to Nouryon. As a Process Engineer, you can discuss your ambitions and corresponding steps.
