Vacancy

As a Maintenance Engineer at Nouryon, you are responsible for the maintenance of the installations in your section of the factory. After concluding an extensive risk study, you set up a maintenance plan for new installations. You make the appropriate cost and benefit analysis so that the installation works as well as possible at the lowest possible costs.

In addition, you check if the maintenance plan for the existing installations is still correct. If there are any problems with the installations you discuss this with the technician on the work floor, investigate why the problem arose and how you can prevent this recurring in the future.

Working week

Maintenance Engineer
René Gast

I have an enjoyable day when I am busy with a variety of tasks and can do a lot on my own analyses.

It is a less enjoyable day if there are numerous unplanned disturbances so that I can’t get on with my own work.

Firsthand experience

You receive a report in which it appears that an installation is not working as expected. What do you do?

You start an investigation to find out why the installation is failing. When you have found out the reason you write up a report on it. In the report, advice is given on what should happen directly and what needs to take place in the middle (long) term.

It is important to also be able to explain this to the management. You have to show what the costs of the maintenance will be and why it is required. The costs of the maintenance may never be more than those of the repair. The plan will be implemented only when the management has approved it.

Growth

You grow by gaining increased experience and as a result may participate in increasingly bigger projects. You can become more specialised and this will be facilitated.
