Vacancy

As a Product Owner you are responsible for the expansion of the added value of Relatics software. This concerns the next generation construction management software in which large complex building projects manage their project information. You work together with several development teams to put the stakeholders’ wishes (both internally and externally) into a new feature. You do this by talking to the stakeholders, taking into consideration what to develop or not, and then using this input to set up and maintain a backlog. Consequently, it is up to you to communicate this clearly to the developers. In addition, you look ahead and work together with the other product owners on a roadmap for the coming months.

If you enjoy being in touch with many different clients and users and don’t mind saying “No” sometimes, then this is the job for you.

Working week

Product Owner
Tom Rupke

On an enjoyable day, I see a feature that I have put on a product backlog being demonstrated by a proud development team.

On a less enjoyable day, I have to inform a stakeholder about a decision which I know they won’t like.

Firsthand experience

One of the clients comes across a bug, which blocks the project from running. What do you do?

The most important thing is that the people working on the project are able to proceed. You can do this by proposing an alternative solution. This may not always be possible and then you have to interrupt the development team during the process of developing a new feature. You'd rather not do this because with an interruption like that not only a lot of valuable time is lost but especially the focus gets lost. Therefore, together with support you try to find the best possible solution for the client that causes the least interruption for the developers: you make sure that the people working on the project can continue and put the solving of the bug on the backlog to be solved in the next Sprint.

Growth

At Relatics, there is no set growth path and there is plenty of freedom to develop. You are encouraged to join training courses and there is no maximum training budget. You are allowed time off to spend freely on personal development.
