As a Senior Technical Writer at EuroSort, you are responsible for the technical documentation of projects concerning sorting installations. You structure, design, write and maintain this documentation and ensure that documents are delivered on time. You manage the Junior and Mid-level Technical Writers in your team. You divide up the projects, coach your fellow Technical Writers, and evaluate their work. In cooperation with your colleagues from the other departments, you are responsible for the structured delivery of the necessary information for the documentation. You also think about the organisation of the work process and implement improvements where necessary.
In order to get a clear picture of the scope of the project, you talk to the Engineers. You collect the right information for the documentation and then start working on its implementation. This includes operating and maintenance manuals for the installation, test documentation (iSAT/SAT) based on functional and technical specifications, performance test documentation and training documents. It is important that this documentation is completed by the time the installation is delivered.
You are part of the Technical Documentation team, which consists of a junior and a mid-level Technical Writer. You are accountable to the Project Manager.
If you like to work with technology in a communicative way and find it challenging to design and improve processes, then this is the job for you.
Working week
On an enjoyable working day, you were able to deliver a document well in time. In addition, a process has been improved, allowing you to work more efficiently from now on.
On a less enjoyable working day, you can't find the necessary specifications. The process apparently doesn't work well, but you see this as an opportunity to make improvements.
