Vacancy

Acquisition based on this advertisement is not appreciated. We usually fill the vacancies ourselves and in exceptional cases we work with preferred suppliers

As a Project Work Planner at EuroSort, you are responsible for the flow of materials and internal assemblies that are needed for the installation of a sorting machine at the customer's site. The bill of materials is supplied by the Engineering department, after which you make sure that it is put into a work order. You also ensure that all materials are ordered so that they are available on site at the right time. In addition, you coordinate the entire process within the supply chain for the duration of the project and you are the point of contact for the organisation.

When a project is sold, you will be linked to it as Project Engineer. Before the start of the project, you have a kick-off meeting in which the Project Coordinator goes through what the project entails and how the machine is constructed. When the Engineering department releases the parts lists, you process these in the ERP system and order the parts.

You make a distinction between the stock parts and the project-specific parts and it is the latter category that you order. You are in regular contact with the suppliers about the deliveries and examine the consequences of any deviations. You are the internal contact for Engineering, the Project Manager, Site Manager, Production, Expedition and the Warehouse.

When the project starts on site, you maintain contact with the Site Manager. You make sure that the correct parts are present when the Engineers start installing on site: if something is missing, the Site Manager contacts you so that you can deliver the part. If the part is so specific that it still has to be designed, you will involve an Engineer. You monitor the progress of the project and report deviations to the Project Manager.

You work on several projects in different phases simultaneously. In addition to you, there are seven Project Planning Team members who work on their own projects. As a team, you want to learn from each other continuously. That is why you help each other if there are bottlenecks.

If you like to organise a lot of things, consult with different departments and find it challenging to actively take up matters yourself, then this is a job for you.

Working week

Project Work Planner
Rob Holster

On an enjoyable working day, the cooperation between those involved is pleasant and everything goes according to plan.

On a less enjoyable working day, I find out that materials cannot be delivered on time due to increasing delivery times.

Firsthand experience

The installation mechanics on site are missing parts. How do you solve this?

It is up to you to ensure that they receive the required parts as soon as possible, so that progress is not jeopardised. The Installation Engineers report the missing parts via the supply list and let you know if it contains mechanical or electrical parts. You check whether the parts are in stock or whether you need to order them from suppliers. Once a week, you collect all the parts and send them to the location, often abroad. Usually, you manage to deliver the parts on time, but this also depends on the complexity of the project.

Growth

EuroSort considers personal development very important. There are therefore many opportunities to attend training and courses. EuroSort is currently developing a personnel policy to make this more concrete.

Colleagues

Sjoerd van Schie - Mechanical Installation Coordinator

Why did you decide to work for this company?
I already worked freelance for this company as an installation supervisor and was asked to do the coordination. It is a young dynamic company that is active worldwide: as a mechanic this gave me the opportunity to travel while working. In this way I gained some nice experiences and now I supervise the installations.

What was your previous job?
Freelance mechanic/assembly supervisor, elevator mechanic and animal caretaker.

What do you do in your spare time?
Fishing.

Wiebe de Jong - Manager TECH

Why did you decide to work for this company?
I started as an intern (Engineer) when the company only had a few employees (almost nineteen years ago). The type of company has always given me opportunities to develop and grow in the organization. It has never been boring as the company and product continues to evolve. The company is always open to new ideas.

What did you study?
Mechanical engineering.

What do you do in your spare time?
Hockey, Formula 1, enjoy drinks on a terrace and play sports.

Andre Meulman - PLC Software Engineer, Control department

Why did you decide to work for this company?
With a predilection for technology, I have always been looking for a working environment in which I have to deal with multiple techniques. At EuroSort, various systems come together in the control of the sorting installations. From controlling various sensors, actuators, motors and servo drives, to communication between different systems, such as servers, HMI and cameras.

What was your previous job?
PLC Software Engineer IA.

What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy doing water sports or hiking.

Marco Vonk - Purchaser

Why did you decide to work for this company?
I started in 2011 as an Engineer at EuroSort. In addition, I did project-related purchases. Due to the dynamic growth of EuroSort, I have gradually started to concentrate and professionalize myself more in the field of purchasing. Partly because the organization feels great, from which we get satisfaction together, this is a huge stimulus to develop myself further and to keep the enthusiasm high. This is an advantage of EuroSort for me!
